Across the country, political attacks against LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit people have grown exponentially over the last several years.
We’re seeing it in North Dakota, too. From discriminatory laws to harassment and threats of violence, there is a well-orchestrated effort to push LGBTQ people out of public life.
That’s why the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition and the ACLU of North Dakota are hosting an LGBTQ+ Lobby Day in Bismarck on Monday.
Lobby Day attendees will attend the hearings in the Senate Education Committee for House Bill 1181, legislation that would require all public and state agencies to only reference a person by their sex determined at birth, and House Bill 1144, legislation that would prevent K-12 public schools from having all-gender bathrooms, including those that are single occupancy.
