Since 2017, the North Dakota LGBTQIA2S+ Summit has been bringing queer people, organizations, and allies together to network for support, education, and organizing. The ACLU of North Dakota is once again looking forward to being a part of the weekend!
Journalist and activist Erin Reed will be the keynote speaker at the North Dakota LGBTQIA2S+ Summit. Reed, a transgender journalist and social media influences, publishes the daily newsletter “Erin in the Morn.” With content viewed hundreds of millions of times across social media platforms, Reed has become one of the most important figures in tracking and dispersing information about the status of LGBTQ+ rights across the United States and around the globe. Her goal is simple: to achieve gender justice for queer and marginalized people through education and understanding. Reed will speak on the topic of rights and resilience and engage summit attendees in a related question and answer session.
With the goal of improving education, health care, legal and social work outcomes in North Dakota for the LGBTQ+ community, the North Dakota LGBTQIA2S+ Summit will also include a pre-event professional development day providing skills trainings to support a focus on resilience and well-being to improve outcomes for the empowerment of both professionals and the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Continuing education credits will be offered by several licensing boards and organizations.
